Genertec CNTIC on Dec. 6 signed with Uzbekistan's Ministry of Water Resources an EPC contract for design and supply of spare parts for Pumping Stations of Karshi Main Canal Agency.
As one of the three projects financed by the Saudi Fund for Development that aims to rehabilitate and reconstruct seven pumping stations along the Karshi Main Canal, the project includes design and supply services of the spare parts of pumps and motors for these pumping stations.
In 2015, Genertec CNTIC completed the upgrading of the Amu-zang1 and Amu-zang2 pumping stations, which were built in the 1970s for agricultural irrigation.
Four years later, the company started building the first pumping station of Uzbekistan after the country declared independence - the Amu Bukhara 1 New Pump Station. As a source of irrigation for the two major agricultural regions of Bukhara and Navoiy, the pumping station is of symbolic significance.
With a number of projects being carried out in Uzbekistan, Genertec will continue to undertake agricultural and hydrological engineering tasks in the country.
