The Kaposvár 100 MW PV power plant, invested and built by Genertec CMC, is the largest solarpower plant in Hungary; it’s also a winner of the 2020 IJGlobal Awards. The project started construction in June 2019 and entered operation in May 2021. During its first year of operation, it pumped around 150 GWh of clean power to the local area, which is equivalent to cutting standard coal consumption by 52,000 tons and CO2 emissions by 140,000 tons.
